Nations records ‘excellent’ results at Cambridge O, A levels

School of the Nations says it has recorded an excellent set of results for its students who sat the Cambridge University O Level, International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) and Advanced Level examinations in May/June.

In a press release, the School singled out Daniel Panday, Errol Van-Lange, Travis Chowargir, Stephanie Savoury and Monique Aaron for their outstanding performances. It said Panday earned five distinctions, two As  and one B; Van-Lange copped two distinctions, five As and one B; Chowargir achieved two distinctions, two A grades and three Bs while Savoury earned one distinction, four As and three Bs and Aaron  got three A grades and four Bs.

It said Athena Ali earned  two As and five Bs; Stacy Chandisingh one A grade and six Bs; Maria DaSilva one A and four Bs; Anant Kanhai earned an A and six Bs; Terence Paton one distinction and four Bs; and Danika Sinclair one A grade and four Bs. Nations said the sixth formers also performed commendably at the examinations. A total of 164 candidates wrote 503 examinations in 17 different subject areas. The school achieved an overall 74% pass rate and 100% passes were recorded in Environmental Management, Literature and Art. In English Language, the pass rate was 96% while the General Paper boasted 92% passes. The School said too it recorded 84% passes in Psychology and 17% of all the examinations were graded A or B.

Nations said Farrah Jacobs earned an A in History and in Law and a C in Psychology; Dominique DeGroot earned an A in Business, a B in Psychology and a C in Maths and Law. Siand Durjohn copped an A in English Language, B in Psychology and C in Law; Christine Alves, a B in Business, Law and Sociology; Daniella Assing an A in Environmental Management, a B in Biology and C in History; and Nikita Case earned Bs in Biology, chemistry, Maths and Physics.

Additionally, Collin Constantine earned an A in English Language, a B in Economics and a C in Business; Alana DaSilva an A in Sociology, B in English Language and a C in Law; Cheyenne Lall earned Bs in Law and Psychology; Laqutea Major earned Bs in Psychology and Sociology and a C in Law; Stacy Nardin copped Bs in Business and History and Cs in Law and the General Paper. Sanjay Parmanand copped an A in History and a C in Law; Nadia Paul, a B in Law and a C in Psychology; Shivani Totaram, an A in Psychology and Cs in Law and History; Diandra Whinfield, an A in Psychology and a C in Economics and Clint Seebarran earned a B in Economics and Cs in Accounts, Business and the General Paper.

The release said too Rookmini Doobay copped an A in Business and a C in English Language and Brooke Glasford, an A in the General Paper and a C in Biology; Dreylan Johnson, two Bs in English Language and Environmental management and a C in Sociology; Mamta Lulla, two Bs in Economics and English Language and a C in Business and Anthony Ting a Kee; a B in Psychology and a C in Law.

The School said a total of 47 candidates sat 328 examinations. It said 13% of its results were at the level of Grade A or distinction and a total of 47% of all the examinations were graded A or B. The School also said it recorded an overall 84% pass rate with 100% passes recorded for Environmental Management, Spanish, Geography, Literature and Travel and Tourism. The pass rate for Physics was 96% and in Biology and English Literature, 92%.
