Boy stabbed in chest in school

A 13-year-old Diamond Secondary School student was admitted to the Georgetown Public Hospital yesterday afternoon after he was stabbed in the chest, allegedly by a classmate.

Eon Fraser told Stabroek News yesterday that his younger brother Stefan Bobb was rushed to the medical institution shortly after 2 pm yesterday.

Bobb, he said, had explained that he asked his classmate, who was sitting in his seat, to move and he became enraged. “My brother told me that after he ask this boy to move it cause a lil argument and the boy eventually get up and run for a scissors and stab my brother to his chest,” Fraser explained.

Bobb was treated and admitted to the Male Surgical Ward where he remained in a stable condition up to late yesterday afternoon.

Fraser said the family was informed of the incident by the school and the matter has since been reported to the police.
