A 41-year-old man was taken to the Georgetown Public Hospital on Saturday afternoon after being injured in a hit-and run accident. The victim is Peter Mahadeo of Riverview, Ruimveldt.
Reports are that at approximately 1.45 pm, Mahadeo was struck by a white jeep on the Ruimveldt Public Road, which fled the scene after the accident. The man reportedly suffered a broken right ankle and lacerations to the forehead as a result of the accident.
