Man who took back cell phone from girlfriend, charged with larceny

It is alleged that on September 18 in Georgetown, Mc Cloud stole one Motorola cell phone valued $30,000 from Joan Shepherd.

Prosecutor, Inspector Stephen Telford said he had no objection to bail but asked that the defendant be cautioned to stay away from the virtual complainant (VC).

Mc Cloud told the court in his explanation that he and the VC were in a relationship and he had bought the phone for her. He said he had not finished paying for the phone and had taken it back after telling her this.

He said the VC then went to the police and he was told to give her back the phone. He said he did but then took it back and had used threatening language against the VC. He further told the magistrate that he was held by the police again and was placed on $5,000 station bail.

Magistrate Beharry after listening to Mc Cloud’s explanation placed him on $10,000 bail on the condition that he stays away from the VC. He is to return to Court 3 on January 5.
