Murdered Soesdyke guard was beaten in head

The security guard who was found murdered in the compound of the Soesdyke NDC compound on Saturday died from compound injuries to the head, chest and neck.

Police in a press statement yesterday said the post-mortem examination was conducted by Dr Nehaul Singh.

Hamilton, 71, of Soesdyke, East Bank Demerara was discovered with his hands and feet bound with cloth and his mouth stuffed with newspapers, an earlier police release said. The grillwork to the NDC overseer’s office had been cut and the office ransacked, the statement had said, while a safe containing cheque and receipt books was missing along with a computer monitor.
