GWI resolves Berbice water queries

Berbicians took advantage of the Guyana Water Incorporated’s  (GWI)  Camp Resolution which was taken to the ancient county on Saturday querying water service bills, some applying for new connections and others reporting leaks.

The company took the campaign to the ancient county as part of its continuing effort to significantly enhance its customer service.

In a statement yesterday, the company said over 300 residents had the opportunity to interact with Housing and Water Minister Irfaan Ali who said he was encouraged by the turnout. According to GWI, each camp has so far made significant progress in changing the face of the company to reflect one which is customer oriented and completely dedicated to the satisfaction of every customer.

GWI said most customer had their queries and complaints resolved on the spot and teams were dispatched around the clock to repair leaks. The statement said too that customer service representatives were also fully absorbed with billing queries regarding estimated consumption and reconnection.

It quoted a customer of New Amsterdam, Nalini Singh as saying that her community as grateful for the initiative and that it was time saving and very effective.

She had a question about her estimated consumption which the company said was fixed within 15 minutes.

Today Camp Resolution would be taken to Bartica and concludes on Saturday on the West Coast Demerara at three locations which are expected to garner large attendance, Ali and senior GWI officials will be part of the outreaches.
