Duprey ill; unable to meet with Ministry, Central Bank

(Trinidad Express) A meeting between CL Financial chairman Lawrence Duprey, the Ministry of Finance and the Central Bank was postponed on Thursday because Duprey could not travel to Trinidad and Tobago in time.

Duprey was expected to meet Finance Minister Karen Nunez-Tesheira and Central Bank Governor Ewart Williams at the Cabildo Chambers, Port of Spain office of Attorney General Bridgid Annisette-George.

Sources said Duprey had planned to fly from his Florida, USA, home on Wednesday but was said to have a minor illness, possibly the flu, sources told the Express.

Government intended to put in writing its demands for greater management control of the Duprey-led CL Financial conglomerate, sources said.

The meeting is now expected to be held next Monday or Tuesday.
