Meanwhile, on November 9 at Georgetown, John who gave her profession to the court as a commercial sex worker, is alleged to have assaulted Sarran. The woman who hails from Berbice pleaded not guilty to the charge.

When given a chance to respond, the parties declined.

The prosecution told the court that on the day in question the two had an argument over sex which led to Sarran becoming annoyed with John. According to the prosecution, the male defendant dealt the woman two slaps and cuffed her after pursuing her with a knife.

The prosecution further stated that John in return threw a bucket of water on Sarran.

When asked her profession, John told the magistrate that she is a ‘hustler’. The magistrate then asked the woman to be more specific and she then told the court, “My worship I does pick fare.”
