The same input will produce the same results

Dear Editor,
I welcome the Guyana Chronicle editorial on the outlet from EDWC to the Atlantic. President Jagdeo’s statement that “We are going to start this year even if we have to cut spending in other areas to facilitate this,” is welcome.

Now the President must put the judiciary and law enforcement in second place for projects that have a similar urgency in terms of Guyanese lives and foreign investment. If he is prepared to use outside experts for D&I, why not hire some outside experts as police officials to reform and improve these areas? None of the ‘successful’ operations of the GPF are sufficient to address the basic flaws that contribute to our distrust and skepticism about the justice system. The President seems unwilling to accept that using most of the same input produces mostly the same results.

Yours faithfully,
