Triple Treat

-S&S promotions plan three boxing cards which will culminate with a middleweight fight against William Joppy

Lennox Allen is all set to clash with Howard Eastman for the national middleweight title of Guyana with the winner guaranteed a fight against  former World Boxing association middleweight champion William Joppy.

But first Allen will have to get past Leon `The Lion’ Gilkes.
In a tripartite, explosive boxing card, organized by S&S Promotions, Allen and Gilkes will clash next month in an elimination bout.

The winner of that bout will battle Howard `Battersea Bomber’  Eastman for the national middleweight title of Guyana.
Gilkes and Allen, who is presently in the United States of America will battle at the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall on February 28.

The winner will clash with Eastman at the same venue on April 25.
Allen has reportedly given a verbal commitment to the bouts and a representative of  S&S Promotions  will leaving for the  US  shortly with the contract for Allen and also  to negotiate with Joppy’s management.

According to reports the three cards will be staged in conjunction with the Guyana Boxing Board of Control and the purses for the two main bouts have already been lodged with the GBBC.
Other fights on the card will see Cecil Smith against Jermaine King  in a  lightweight bout over four rounds;  Michael de Mattos against Eversley Browne in a six-round middle weight  clash; Sharon Warde against Veronica Blackman in a catchweight contest and Eastman against an opponent to be named.

But the fight that will most likely catch the public’s imagination will be the grudge affair between two veterans.

Cecil `Koker Dawg’ Alfred will oppose `Piggy’ Griffith in a catchweight fight.
