Edwards, a former Caribbean men’s singles champion, found a useful ally in Lewis to steamroll a strong field of 32 of the best teams from across the Toronto area defeating teams with Canadian Table Tennis Association (CTTA) ratings of 2500 or higher.

In the semi final, Lewis led his team to victory after defeating the opposing team’s top player in five gruelling games winning 16-14 in the fifth.

In the final Chance lost 0:3 to Mark Pang but Lewis powered his way to a 3:1 win over A. Kali while Edwards crushed his opponent in three straight games.

Lewis then wrapped up the tie with a 3-0 whipping of Pang.
