NSC Mashramani TT tournament…

Trenace Lowe and Nigel Bryan made their presence felt in this year’s annual National Sports Commission (NSC) sponsored Mashramani  table tennis tournament making a clean sweep of their respective categories when the event continued at the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall on Sunday.

Bryan won the boys’ 18-years-and-under category making  light work of Samuel Fraser in the final.

Bryan won in three straight sets (11-3, 11-5 and 11-9).
Third place position went to Trean Phillips who defeated Remy Rodriques by three sets to two in a close encounter (8-11, 11-4, 7-11, 11-6, and 11-8).
Samuel Fraser claimed the 15-years- and-under title by defeating Stephan Patior 3-1 (11-7, 11-8 and 14-12) while third place went to Dillon Mahadeo who defeated Berachah Garrett.

Over in the ladies action, Lowe failed to drop a set in the final against Chelsea Edghill winning 11-4, 11-5 and 11-5. Third place went to Ambrose Thomas who defeated Adeille Roushevel 3-2 (8-11, 13-11, 9-11, 11-4 and 11-6). And later, Thomas teamed up with Lowe to win the junior girls doubles title.

In the boys doubles final, Bryan and Ronaldo Bharat teamed up to defeat the pair of Denzil Hopkinson and Stephan Patior by three sets to two (9-11, 7-11, 14-12, 11-9 and 11-5) to claim the title.

Bryan then joined forces with Lowe to win the junior mixed doubles title from Bharat and Thomas  3-1 (7-11, 11-1, 11-8 and 11-8 while Hopkinson and Roushevel settled for third place.

Lowe continued her dominance by capturing the 21-years-and-under Open title as she effortlessly got past Joel Alleyne in the final (11-7, 11-5, 10-12 and 11-9)

The tournament will continue on Sunday at the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall from 10:00 hours with the ‘C’ and ‘B’ Class Open and the Senior men and women doubles.
