Arjune smashes 170 for Bamboo Sports

Guyanese Krishna Arjune smashed a massive 170 to lead Bamboo Sports Club to first innings points over Police Sports Club in the North Championship of the T&T Cricket Board of Control last weekend. Batting first, Bamboo made 278 on the strength of Arjune’s century. Amir Khan (3-25) and Johan Henry (3-20) were the top bowlers for Police.

In reply, Vishwanath Seenath took 6-42 as Police was dismissed for 190. Khan was also handy with the bat, chipping in with 34 while Richard Ano made 30.

Elsewhere, Guyanese all rounder Neil Williams was in fine form for Curepe Sports as their game against Aranguez ended in a no-result. Aranguez Sports batting first scored 285 for nine declared with Williams taking  3-47.

In reply, Curepe were 236 for nine before rain interruptions put a premature end to the match. Williams and fellow Guyanese Andrew Lyght – the son of former Guyana national Andrew Lyght, each scored 50.
