Deosarran slams 69 in Twenty20

Former Guyana under-19 player Krishna Deosarran struck 69 yesterday in a losing effort against PowerGen in the round of 16 of the Carib Twenty/20 league.

PowerGen batting first scored 178 for three off their 20 overs with Evin Lewis striking 111 not out. Caldrac then fell for 115 in 19.1 overs with only Deosarran getting among the runs.

In Central, Deosarran’s fellow countryman Azeemul Hannif had better luck as he scored 25 not out to lead Clico Preysal to an eight-wicket victory over Alescon Comets.

At Felicity, Devon Clement was in fine all round form, striking 62 and taking 3/28 to lead his team to a six-wicket victory over Invaders.

AT PIERRE ROAD: Alescon  Comets 96-7 (20) (Fazil Baksh 20 not out, Shannon Gabriel 3-22, Yannick Ottley 2-21) v Clico Preysal Sports 97-2 (15.3) (Shazan Babwah 49 not out, Azeemul Haniff 25 not out). Preysal won by 8 wkts.

AT FELICITY: Ihsan Invaders 158-6 (20) (Devon Clement 62, Sibhi Sheikh 34) v UTT 152-8 (20) (Marlon Richards 37, Keon Isaac 27, Ako George 28, Devon Clement 3-28, Allan Lawrence 2-25). Invaders won by 6 runs.
