‘Forty’ dominates field

Inspired no doubt by his convincing victory in the recent Cheddi Jagan Memorial cycle road race in Berbice, Warren ‘Forty’ Mc Kay returned yesterday to dominate the field in the feature race of the 18th Annual R&R International sponsored cycling programme around the inner circuit of the National Park.

Mc Kay completed the 35-laps event for Junior and Juvenile cyclists in a time 1hr 21:45s, ahead of Geron Williams and defending champion Christopher Holder respectively, while Leer Nunes, Darren Allen and Enzo Matthews completed the top six positions.

So dominant was Mc Kay, that he took all eight sprint prizes that were up for grabs during the feature event.

Other winners of the day included Jason Pollydore (12-14 Boys), Wilbert Benjamin (Veteran Under-50), Anthony Farriah (Veteran Over-50), Oziah Mc Aully (Upright and BMX Open), Raymond Perez (BMX 6-9 and 9-12) and Jamal Cromwell (BMX 12-14).

The presentation of prizes was done by Henry Rambarran Jnr. on behalf of the sponsors.
