Present to set things in motion was Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports, Dr Frank Anthony who expressed his satisfaction to the GMR&SC for setting the tone for other sports associations to follow.

President of the GMR&SC, Vishok Persaud said the initiative was primarily to introduce new blood to the sport and to generate more public awareness to motor racing.

The go-kart facility, which was built at a cost of approximately $24 M, will be open to the general public from 3pm on Mondays-Fridays.

On weekends the facility will be open from noon and the cost to rent a kart will be just $1000.
