(Compiled by Calvin Roberts)

Following up on yesterday’s profiles on the national Under-15 team, Stabroek Sports presents the remaining four players.

20090402veerapen1Veerapen Permaul
Age: 14 years old
Date of birth: 30th August 1994
Club: Albion Sports Club
Position: Batsman
Batting style: Left Hand
Bowling style: Right hand off spin

The younger brother of Guyana and West Indies Under-19 left arm orthodox spinner Veerasammy Permaul, Veerapen is known in Guyana to be a worthy customer with the bat in comparison to his brother Veerasammy who destroys teams with his bowling.

His unbeaten innings of 88 for Corentyne District against Wakenaam in the Guyana Cricket Board (GCB)/Ministry of Education under-15 District final, belied his age as he displayed a level of maturity missing in some young batsmen today.

20090402brianBrian Sattaur
Age: 13 years old
Date of birth: 1st February 1996
Club: Lusignan, East Coast Demerara
Position: Batsman
Batting style: Left Hand
Bowling style: Right arm off spin

Even though he is not technically correct as an opener, his ability to hit the ball over the infield whether there are restrictions or not serves him well, as he loves the feel of the ball coming off his bat.

His pugnacious attitude as an opener can serve the team well, as in partnership with Christopher Surat, a solid foundation can be laid for their team’s batting line-up.

20090402omeshOmesh Dhanram

Age: 15 years old
Date of birth: 18th March 1994
Club: Demerara Cricket Club
Position: All-rounder
Batting style: Right hand
Bowling style: Right hand leg spin

Whilst not much is known of Dhanram, the one certainty is that he is the lone right-handed leg spinner in the team and this should complement the other bowlers, if he is given a chance to play.

20090402sunilSunil Rupee

Age: 15 years old
Date of birth: 1st September 1993
Club: Georgetown Cricket Club
Position: Batsman
Batting style: Right hand
Bowling style: Right hand off-spin

Being a member of the prestigious Georgetown Cricket Club should be an honour for any young player, as this club produced present West Indies batting maestro Shivnarine Chanderpaul and the in-form Ramnaresh Sarwan.

Rupee has displayed ability as a batsman that could one day enable him to join the above mentioned two as West Indies players coming out of GCC.

His ability to anchor an innings following a breakthrough by the opposition bowler, would serve Guyana well in the upcoming tournament.
