Cheddi Jagan Memorial 50-mile road race

The third stage in the second annual Cheddi Jagan Memorial 50 mile cycle road race will pedal off tomorrow morning from 9am.

The cyclists will ride from Supenaam to Charity and back to Anna Regina for the finish. A new champion is expected to be crowned at this event since defending champion Junior Niles along with Alonzo Greaves, Geron Williams, Christopher Holder Jnr and Warren McKay are currently competing in the West Indies versus the Rest of the World competition in Trinidad and Tobago. Niles won last year’s event in a time of 2.18:56.42 and Williams won the junior division.

The first six finishers in today’s race will receive prizes along with the eight sprint prizes that are up for grabs. The first three junior and upright cyclists will also receive prizes along with the first three veterans who will be pedalling off from Anna Regina to Charity and back to the starting point for the finish.
