Rose Hall Town Windies Sports Bar (RHTWSB)and Young Warriors Cricket Clubs will tomorrow clash in the finals of the first ever ABS 40 Overs First Division Tournament organised by the Berbice Cricket Board.
The match which will be played at the Canje Welfare Ground promises to be a thriller as the archrivals over the years have always produced high quality cricket whenever they play.
RHTSB would be led by national middle order batsman Assad Fudadin who would lead a batting order that consists of veteran Andre Percival, Khemraj Mahadeo, Renwick Batson, Jason Sinclair, Michael Hicks and Eon Hooper.
The bowling would be spin-based in the absence of national fast bowler Esaun Crandon who is playing in the West Indies Players Association (WIPA) Twenty/20 Tournament in Trinidad. Therefore off spinners Percival, Mahadeo, Fudadin, Hooper and Troy Mathieson along with leg spinner Ravi Narine would receive support from medium pacers Renwick Batson and Terrence Madramootoo. Young Warriors would be led by national Under-19 coach Hubern Evans and he would be supported by Balram Samaroo, Farouk Hussain, Gajanand Singh, Anil Beharry, Randolph Baker and Ishwar Singh in a strong batting order.
Pacers Kwesi Maltay and Devindra Ramoutar would lead the bowling attack with support from off spinners Evans, Hussain, Daryl Narine, Samaroo and leg spinner Beharry.
The winning team would receive $50,000 and a trophy and the runner-up $25,000.
There would also be additional prizes for the Man-of-the-Finals, the batsman with the most runs and the bowler with the most wickets in the finals.
Managing Director of Associated Business Services (ABS) Martin Singh would meet both teams before the start of the match which will have Clement Brusche and Mahendra Singh as the officials, with Jai Hardeo being the standby official.
