Local speedster Stephen ‘Valentino Rossi’ Vieira says that he is hoping to transfer his winning ways from the South Dakota Circuit in Guyana to the Bushy Park race circuit which will play host to the second round of the Caribbean Race of Champions series.

Apart from Vieira, Gavin Gayadin, Kevin Jeffery and Andrew King are the other competitors who will represent Guyana.

Vieira,  has, over the years grown to be one of the top super bike riders in Guyana and has proven this feat by snatching all the top awards at all of the meets held by the Guyana Motor Racing and Sports Club (GMR&SC).

This will be his second outing to the land of flying fish after a flawless showing last year on the track where he raced  to two wins in two starts.

This time around while he is hoping to continue his winning ways, there are some concerns about the suspension of the 2008 Suzuki GSX 600.

At this year’s National Race of Champions at the South Dakota Circuit,  the rider spoke of the suspension problems he faced adding that he had not yet adjusted to the bike which he had received just before the start of the first round in May. Vieira won two of the three races that day and afterwards  he told reporters that he wanted to get the suspension problem rectified before Barbados.

“Well my bike has already been shipped to Barbados but we sent the suspension to Miami so it could be looked at properly. I want to have it fixed so my bike can run 100%, I’m really looking forward for a good meet in Barbados,” said the young Vieira.

Stephen has been dominating the local track and he says the trip to Barbados will give him the competition he craves.

“This would be my second time going there and its good fun, really aggressive and I like that, no disrespect to the local riders but over there even though the last time I won all my races, the guys are really competitive. So this is something that I want badly and that is why I want my bike to be working 100%,” Vieira said.

Most of the local contingent will be leaving on August 28 but in order to ensure his bike is more than ready on time Stephen will depart on August 26.

“This suspension thing is really bothering me and I want it to work almost perfectly because I want to remain winning in Barbados and also to prepare for November when Kevin Graham will come with his big bike…but regardless, I want to do well in Barbados.”
