Smiley Faces keep on smiling

Smiley Faces Table Tennis Club kept on smiling last Saturday as the Kenneth De Abreu league team competition continued at the Malteenoes Sports Club.

Competing in the Division B for advanced players, the team of Natalie Cummings and Remy Taitt  defeated Halex Table Tennis Club  (Jody-Ann Blake, Morton Blake & Xen Goliath) 3-0 while Snipers (Joel Alleyne and Hewley Griffith) defeated Bishop’s High School (Denzel Duff, Jamaal Duff and Chelsea Edghill) 3-1.

In other results in that division, Unstoppable (Nigel Bryan, Dwayne Gibson and Warren Hacksaw) beat Lil Champs (Sunil Logan, Elishaba Johnson & Kyle Edghill) 3-1 and Bubblegum Warriors (Brandon Baldie & Denzel Hopkinson) defeated Outlaws ( Adielle Rosheuvel & Samuel Fraser) 3-1.

After three rounds, Smiley Faces lead the points’ standings with four wins from four matches.
Unstoppable with three wins  from three matches are in second place while Snipers, two wins  and one loss and Bubblegum Warriors with one win  and two defeats round out the top four teams.
In Division `C’ for intermediate players Gaza (Jamaal Duff and Sunil Logan) lead the table with two wins from as many matches.

They are followed by NP Electronics with one win from one match, NDR with 1 win and two losses and Terror Squad with one win and two losses. .

In the lone match played last Saturday NDR (Denzel Duff and Adielle Rosheuvel) defeated Terror Squad (Samuel Fraser, Joseph Johnson & Elishaba Johnson)    3-1. Turbo Table Tennis Club with three wins from as many matches lead Division E (semi intermediate) with Dominators; two wins no defeat in second place.

Dragon Warriors with two wins and one defeat lie third while Top Spin with two wins and one defeat round out the top four.

In matches played on Saturday, Dragon Warriors (Elishaba Johnson and Alistair Parks) trounced Top Spin (Carl Handy and Zane Rogers) 3-0; Turbo TT Club (Brandon Gomes and Sachin Panday) beat KRS (Kyle Edghill and Rajiv Muneshwar) 3-2 and Dominators (Chelsea Edghill and Priscilla Greaves) whitewashed Eagles (Raymond Seebarran, Gerard Budhan and Shannon Ganga) 3-0.

In Division `D’ (Business Entities, Corporation, and Government Agencies) Nigel’s Supermarket with two wins from two matches are the front runners.

They are followed by NP Electronics with two wins and one defeat while Western Union, one win and two defeats and  Bank of Guyana two losses from two matches round out the top four teams.
On Saturday NP Electronics (Michael Vieira and Bruce Murray) defeated Western Union (Hewley Griffith, Roger Jackman and Lisa Lewis) 3-2. The competition continues today from 4:30pm
