Joynauth slams first ton in NBS second division competition

Andrew Joynauth slammed the first century of the 2009 New Building Society second division limited-overs cricket competition which enabled Shieldstown Number Four to defeat Number Two Village over the week-end.

The Berbice Cricket Board-organised competition saw Joynauth slamming an unbeaten 131 with 14 fours and eight sixes as Shieldstown Number Four reached 237 for 7 off 30 overs.

Number Two Village in reply were dismissed for 175 in 26 overs with Parmanand Persaud top scoring with 65.
And, half centuries from Hemraj Mankarran and Tamesh Ramessar helped Kennard’s Memorial defeat Kildonan.
Batting first Kennard’s Memorial scored 193 all out with Mankarran scoring 78 and Ramessar, 61.

Kildonan, in reply, were bowled out for a paltry 49 as medium pacer Roopnarine Ramlall bagged 5-13 from six overs.
Left arm spinner Ramessar, chipped in with 3-17.

Also scoring half centuries were Sand Reef’s Vijay Ramsaroop, Chesney’s Rajkumar Budhram Hopetown United’s wicket-keeper batsman Kwasie Mentore Jaipaul Heeralall of De Edward, Jamael Assad of No. 70 M.Y.O and Godfrey Frederick of Defenders.
