No Tricks No Business for month end encore

Godfrey Naughton’s No Tricks, No Business, which packs a serious dramatic punch and delivers an interesting, humorous story about the business of body snatching, is set for an encore at the National Cultural Centre (NCC) later this month.

The play, which brings into sharp focus the practice of touting dead bodies at hospitals, had its debut run last October.

At that time, Naughton had said that No Tricks, No Business was opening at a time in Guyana, when the search for good moral foundation for relationships, between friends and family and business associates, is as elusive as no other time in the country’s history.
He added that the story was an object lesson on how dire situations can transcend ethnicity, and good clean Guyanese humour is the vehicle used to carry the drama.

No tricks, No Business will run for two nights at the NCC; January 31 and February 1. Tickets range between $500 and $1,000.
