S and P Promotion is promising clean and conscious entertainment this evening with a show entitled ‘Unite the people’ featuring Jamaica’s rising reggae and dancehall stars Turbulence, Esco and Baby Pink at the National Park
This is the first time the group will be promoting a show in Guyana and according to one half of the organistion, Simon Pearson, S and P wanted to present artistes who are new to shores of Guyana and yet still have the vibes to entice the public as well as being popular.
As such, it opted for some of the youngest acts out of Jamaica who the Guyanese people will be receptive to.
Sheldon Campbell, aka Turbulence, is internationally known for his conscious lyrics sharing a similar vocal style to that of Sizzla. With influences ranging from the great Bob Marley, Sizzla Kalonji, Jah Cure, Luciano, Mikey General and his older cousin Norris Man, he has developed a unique singing and deejaying style.
His most popular song is entitled “Could Have Been” and the artiste told reporters at a press conference on Thursday that the tune speaks of his challenges and the choices he had to make in life and also choosing the right path.
He also went on to state that he has plenty in store for the Guyanese people since its his first time here, the motive is to “full joy” himself.
Meanwhile, Matthew Thompson aka Esco is known world over for his collaboration with Craig Parkes when they formed the dynamic duo called ‘Left side and Esco’ in 2007.
With hits such as “Last Night”, “No STD’s” and “Tuck in Yuh Belly” that have made number one and dancehall top ten charts around the world Esco has grown to prominence since then.
The duo parted ways over the past year but Esco is promising an energetic performance this evening with most of his emphasis being placed “on the ladies”.
With his latest hits in Jamaica “1st Lady”, “Motel Love” and “Fast as U Can” Esco is calling on all Guyanese to come out since he has brought a bag of tricks to share. Baby Pink is said to be the hottest female dancehall DJ in Jamaica at present and is known for her unequivocal style.
Pretty in looks but with great ferocity in her lyrics, Baby Pink said that she’s more than excited to be come to Guyana for the first time and as such, she has planned a “wicked” act to present; one that would leave the audience gasping for more.
A show with a conscious spin and with a strong message to the youths is being promised by the promoters and based on the hype that the artistes have all promised to bring, tonight’s gig will certainly be a scorcher.
Early birds tickets for the show are going at $1,500 and at the gate patrons will have to pay $2,000 before 10 pm and after that the price will be $2,500.
