Kriskal Persaud currently in lead at Neal and Massy Championship

Today, two rounds will be played at the Ocean Spray hotel. Taffin Khan and National Junior Champion Ron Motilall are representing Guyana in chess in the Inter-Guiana games, and their encounters have been rescheduled. Ron is the only junior player who qualified to participate in the championship.

Following this championship tournament, the Guyana Chess Federation moves immediately into the National Schools’ Champion-ship which will be sponsored by the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sport. The federation and the ministry are looking forward to welcoming some schools to the championship that never participated in the tournament previously.

Meanwhile the National Chess Championship is being sponsored exclusively by the Neal and Massy Group of Companies in association with the Seven Seas brand. Hampers of products from Seven Seas and the Neal and Massy Group, and T-shirts carrying the Seven Seas logo were distributed to all the participants before the beginning of the championship. Cash prizes and trophies have also been provided by the sponsors
