Two charged over Albouystown murder

-arrest warrant issued for third

Two men yesterday appeared in court charged with the December 31 murder of Wendell Tapping in Albouys-town.

Wendell Tapping

Leonard Allicock and his brother Randolph Allicock called ‘Yellow Man’ were both informed by acting Chief Magistrate Melissa Robertson that they were jointly charged along with Steve Allicock and that they were not required to enter a plea to the indictable charge.

An arrest warrant has also been issued for Leonard’s eldest son, Steve Allicock.

Leonard and Randolph, who stood in the dock of the court with blank expressions on their faces, were represented by attorney-at-law Euclin Gomes, who in his bid to secure an early date for the commencement of the Pre-liminary Inquiry stated that the matter should not be stalled because Steve Allicock is at large.

The lawyer reasoned that since the police have charged his clients then it follows that they had sufficient evidence to do so and that the evidence should be sufficient enough for the preliminary inquiry to commence very soon.

Meanwhile, Prosecutor Stephen Telford said that the case file is complete and in order for

a PI to begin for the duo.

The magistrate then issued the arrest warrant for Steve Allicock and ordered that the case be transferred to Court Three for January 27.

Reports are that Tapping had left his home on New Year’s eve to collect a phone that he had given to someone to charge in Hill Street, Albouystown, when two men confronted him with one holding him down while the other chopped him.
