Some batches of Nifedipine recalled

The Government Analyst Food and Drug Department is advising consumers to return APO NIFED PA (Nifedipine) 20 mg tablets to the department as they have failed a dissolution test. The tablet is used to treat hypertension and angina.

According to a release from the unit, the dissolution test measures the amount of active ingredient dissolved in the prescribed medium after a specific time. The department is advising consumers who may have purchased the product to return same to its offices.

The drugs in question are from batch numbers HR 8202, expiring next month, HW 7795 which expires this month, HZ 6136 and HZ 7603 which expire in September, and JA 9074 which expires in February next year.
