Bus conductor fined for exposing himself to teen girl

A minibus conductor will have to pay a $15,000 fine after he pleaded guilty to exposing his private parts to a 13-year-old girl.

Seon Oliver of Lot 24 Norton Street, Werk-en-Rust entered a guilty plea to the charge of indecent exposure when he appeared yesterday at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court before acting Chief Magistrate Melissa Robertson.

He admitted that on February 24, at Princess Street, Lodge, he indecently exposed himself to the girl.

Prosecutor Stephen Telford stated that on the day of the indicent, Oliver was at a family friend where the teenager was sleeping. The girl was awakened when Oliver removed her underwear.

Telford stated that Oliver, his pants down and his privates exposed, told the teen to hold his privates. When she refused, he reverted to masturbating in front of her.

The prosecutor further noted that Oliver afterwards gave the teen $1,000 and told her not to tell anyone what had happened. The teen told her mother of the incident the next morning.

A report was made and Oliver was later arrested.

“Ah real sorry foh wuh ah do but ah din touch her,” a remorseful looking Oliver stated. He said that he was watching a pornographic movie at the teen’s home when she woke up and caught him masturbating. He was later escorted out of the courtroom by a policeman.
