Joseph Pollydore Street murder accused to face new PI after four years in prison

Kesan Azore was read the capital charge of murder when he appeared before Acting Chief Magistrate Melissa Robertson yesterday.  He was not required to plead to the indictable charge.

Azore, who has spent the last four years in prison, is accused of murdering Curtoin Parks at Joseph Pollydore Street on March 18, 2006.

Azore has spent the years awaiting the completion of the preliminary inquiry into his matter. The PI had started on a number of occasions but procedural snafus by the court have made it impossible for it to reach a conclusion.

With a number of aborted PIs into the matter, on the advice of the DPP, the matter was withdrawn and a fresh charge instituted.

His attorney Mark Waldron asked the court for the matter to be transferred so that the new PI could start as soon as possible. The matter was then transferred to Court 10.
