Kings Jewellery opens duty-free outlet at airport

Kings Duty Free shop has joined several other businesses which have opened their doors to the travelling public at the Cheddi Jagan Inter-national Airport, Timehri.

According to a release from the Government Information Agency (GINA), the store was declared open on Saturday in the departure lounge of the airport when Yvonne Hinds, wife of Prime Minister Samuel Hinds cut the ribbon in the presence of President Bharrat Jagdeo and the store proprietor Loaknath Persaud among others.

GINA stated that the President congratulated the store’s owner and expressed confidence that the entity will be maintained in accordance with the standards which the business is known for setting. According to GINA, the President stated that Kings Jewellery World joins the list of prominent stores which Guyanese love to boast about overseas and he reiterated his advice for Guyanese to think boldly noting that it is a key component in advancing the country.’ The small initiatives are good but it’s the large ones that would have a transformative impact on society’, the President stated.

He also noted that while the Government will set the stage with supportive policies, the initiatives by entrepreneurs when combined, give impetus to fast-tracking development.

Since its establishment in 1994, Kings has opened branches in The Bahamas and Trinidad and Tobago as well as in New York. The entity joins several businesses including, The Roti Hut, Rituals Coffee House and Nestle Ice Cream Parlour which have opened their doors at CJIA.
