Manufacturing group elects new president

The Guyana Manufacturing and Services Association (GMSA) recently elected Clinton Williams its new president at its AGM hosted on Friday.

According to a press release, Williams, CEO of the Guyana National Industrial Corporation, succeeds Ramesh Dookhoo who recently assumed the chairmanship of the Private Sector Commission. Williams said he appreciated the association’s confidence in him. He set as his objectives for the 2010/2011 year the expansion and enforcement in the manufacturing and services sector through advocacy, innovation and technological change.

The GMSA Board also includes First Vice President Lloyd Singh of International Pharmaceutical Agency and Clear Waters Inc, Second Vice President Lindel Harlequin of Development Finance Guyana Limited and Third Vice President Autamaram Lakeram of National Milling Company. , Harlequin is also the chairman of services.

The chairs of the other sub-sectors are Andrew Mendes – Forestry and Wood Works, Anthony Ross – Agro-Processing, Gregory DeGannes – Fast Food Restaurants and Gowkarran Persaud – Minerals. Mark Bender is sub-sector coordinator.

Other members elected are Dookhoo, Deny Bourque, Yonette Jeffers, Clement Duncan, Terry Holder, Justin Habibullah, Tina Horslen, Peter Pompey, Raymond Ramsaroop, Gopienauth Sowdagar, Marjorie Chester and Gary Thompson.
