Docol donates 20 cylinders of gas to Red Cross hinterland project

Demerara Oxygen Company Limited (Docol) donated 12 cylinders of Tex gas and their fittings to the Guyana Red Cross Society to assist in the Hinterland community-based water and sanitation projects for residents in Region One.

In a press release the company said the Red Cross is coordinating the programme with funding from the European Union and French Red Cross Society. Project Coordinator Suparna Bera said the objective of the programme is to improve the health of needy persons in regions one and nine through increased sustainable access to safe water and better community water management. Bera extended gratitude to Docol for the timely contribution.

Docol Marketing Manager Gopienauth Sowdagar said his company is always willing to support community-based initiatives. He said recently it donated almost 100 directional signs to the Parfait Harmonie community in West Demerara and it is always ready to provide oxygen for the Georgetown hospital. He also said Docol customers can expect to see an improved 9 kg cylinder on the market.
