Cuyuni tree fall injures four

A pork-knocker is nursing injuries at the Georgetown Public Hospital after a tree fell on him and three of his co-workers while at work in the Cuyuni River.

Hilary Shepherd, 28, of Graham Street, Plaisance ECD said he and three other persons were at Aranka last Sunday when the incident occurred.  Shepherd sustained a huge gash in his head which required nearly 40 stitches, the man’s aunt said.

Shepherd’s injury was said to be severe compared to the others. He also sustained a broken shoulder and injuries to his neck and jaw.
