Burrowes school hosting art camps from July 19

The Burrowes School of Art will be hosting art camps for youths from Monday, July 19.

According to a Government Information Agency (GINA) press release the camps will be held at the school’s Carifesta Avenue, Thomas Lands location. The two-week programme caters for youths between the ages of nine and 16 years and will be leisure-oriented. Activities include art and craft, finger-painting and various games.

In addition, a four-week training programme will be held for children between the ages of six and 12 years. A fee of $5,000 will be charged.

Administrator and teacher at the School, Robert Cummings, in a recent interview with GINA said the programmes aim to get youths involved in art and creative activities from an early age. The School caters to persons of all ages and offers courses in the diploma and certificate programmes including Graphics, Art, History and English, Ceramics, Textile Design, Painting, and Leather Craft. It is offering a five-week programme that includes arts and craft, painting and leather and textiles creation. A fee of $12,000 will also be charged for persons who are interested in this programme.
