The Guyana Police Force honoured 72 fallen officers at a wreath-laying ceremony at the Monument to the Fallen Heroes at police headquarters on Sunday.

Minister of Home Affairs Clement Rohee, along with police top brass and relatives of the deceased, paid tribute to the fallen comrades. Tribute was also paid Constable 20740 Baldat Becramsingh who was shot dead by bandits while on duty at the police housing scheme in Lamaha Springs.

The ceremony honoured policemen killed in the line of duty between 1979 and 2010.
