Twice shot man stable

The twenty-year-old who was shot twice on Monday night remains a patient of the Georgetown Hospital and the police are still looking for the attacker.

The man, Tshawn Haywood of 121 Thomas Street, Kitty again declined to speak to this newspaper yesterday when approached in the High Dependency Unit where he has been admitted.

Hospital officials said that man’s condition is listed at stable.

Police yesterday said that there was no information on the whereabouts of the suspect but investigations are being conducted.

Haywood was shot in the back and abdomen in a yard at Alexander Street, Kitty by an unknown assailant who fled on a bicycle.

The shooting occurred around 21:50 hours in a yard on Alexander Street.

A resident recalled hearing one gunshot and upon looking out saw Haywood “clutching he belly and saying how a man shoot he and he riding up de road…” However the resident said when she looked in the direction the man was pointing she did not see anyone.

The woman had said that she didn’t know who shot the man or what he (Haywood) was doing there. Haywood according to her was never seen there before.
