West Bank man put on $15,000 bail over ganja possession

A 26-year-old man from West Bank Demerara was yesterday admitted to $15,000 bail when he appeared before Magistrate Hazel Octive-Hamilton at the Georgetown Magistrate’s Court to answer to a narcotics charge.

The allegation is that on August 23 at West Bank Demerara, Dwayne Sue of 744 Bell West Housing Scheme, West Bank Demerara had in his possession three grams of cannabis.

The defendant pleaded not guilty to the charge of possession of narcotics when it was read to him by the magistrate.

Attorney-at-Law Sonia Parag who represented the accused made an application that her client be granted reasonable bail.

Prosecutor Shellon Daniels had no objection to the bail application made by the lawyer.

Sue was later placed on $15,000 bail. His matter was transferred to the Wales Magistrate’s Court for September 3 for report and fixture.
