Three employees of the Demerara Oxygen Company Limited (DOCOL) were injured this afternoon following an explosion at the company’s East Bank Demerara location, its Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Shameer Hoosein has confirmed.
Hoosein told media operatives that there was a “small” explosion at the gas manufacturing company and that the employees sustained minor injuries. They are all being treated at a private institution. The CEO said the Guyana Fire Service responded promptly but by then the blaze was put out.
