Arau wants land settled before low carbon decision

Arau supports saving forests but villagers in the remote community want their land issues to be dealt with as they fear that with new rules their traditional activities would be severely restricted.

There are many questions but answers are not forthcoming, Devroy Thomas, the Chief of the Region Seven community in the Pakaraimas Mountains said in an interview last week. “I was trying at the (National Toshaos) Conference but no time was given to me”, he said.
