Jagdeo meets Goed Fortuin fisherfolk on relocation issue

President Bharrat Jagdeo met with a group of fisherfolk from Goed Fortuin to allow them to voice their concerns about a proposal to relocate them to Vreed-en-Hoop.

According to a Government Information Agency (GINA) press release the group said the new location is unsuitable and cited a number of challenges they say may hinder their work. In a few days the relevant authorities are expected to visit the area for an assessment and later a determination.

Minister of Agriculture Robert Persaud and Minister of Transport and Hydraulics Robeson Benn also attended the meeting.
