Defence requests medical evaluation of Charlestown chopping rampage man

William Light, the man who reportedly went berserk and hacked two persons to death last October and also allegedly attempted to murder two others, yesterday made another appearance at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court and his lawyer requested a medical evaluation of his client. The man’s attorney, Adrian Thompson made an application before acting Chief Magistrate Priya Sewnarine-Beharry for his client to be granted a medical evaluation.

According to Thompson, Light is of unsound mind and as a result may not be fit to stand trial. The case was subsequently adjourned to December 21 for report on whether the man will be allowed
