Car stolen by gunmen from taxi driver found at Bel Air workshop

A car stolen from a taxi driver at Bare Root, ECD yesterday was found at a Bel Air workshop and three men and a juvenile are now in custody.

Police today said that at around 9 last night, taxi-driver Breone Wright, 31, of Melanie Damishana, ECD, was attacked and robbed by four men, one of whom was armed with a handgun.

The police said that investigations revealed that Wright was proceeding along the access road when he was stopped by the men who enquired about the cost to go to the public road. The men then entered the car and later held him at gunpoint and robbed him of $5,000, one cell phone and his Carina AT 192 motor car.

“The police responded promptly to the report and recovered the motor vehicle at a workshop at Bel Air, ECD. Three men and a male juvenile were arrested and are in police custody assisting with the investigations”, the release said.
