Motorcycle bandit grabs $3M outside market

An armed motorcycle bandit yesterday snatched $3 million dollars from a man who was sitting in a vehicle at Orange Walk, Bourda shortly after leaving a city bank.

Up to press time last night police were still looking for the perpetrators.

Police said in a press release that they are investigating an armed robbery which occurred around 3 pm at Orange Walk, Bourda during which Shadeer Hussain of Canal No. One West Bank Demerara was attacked and robbed by a man armed with a firearm.

According to the release, investigations have revealed that Hussain withdrew the money from a city bank and then left with his wife for Bourda Market.
While in his motor vehicle waiting for his wife, he was held up by the armed man who took away the money and escaped.
