(De Ware Tijd) PARAMARIBO — Yesterday, Justice and Police Minister Martin Misiedjan declared war on heavy crime. At the year-closing activity of the Surinamese Police Force (KPS) in the Police Training Center the force was given his approval to act hard against heavy crime within the law. Earlier he had stated in his speech that there will always be some tension in the collaboration between him and the force as there will often be a difference in opinion regarding matters. That is why it will remain a challenge to forge these different opinions into one as both the Ministry and the KPS have a safe and livable country as common goal.
