Man fatally chopped while on phone errand -two suspects held

Wendell Tappin, called `Keyco’, 23, of 89 La Penitence Street, Albouystown was rushed to the Georgetown Hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

According to his mother, Silvia Kisshore, Tappin had told her he was going to collect his cell phone which he had charging in Hill Street. She said that he had given somebody the phone to charge.

She said that persons had come to the house and told her that her son was being chopped. Accounts are that two men confronted Tappin with one holding him down while the other chopped him.

She said that after receiving the news, Tappin’s sister rushed over to the scene and assisted in taking her brother to the hospital. The distraught woman was still in her blood-stained clothes when this newspaper visited the family at their home.

The suspected assailants are said to be in police custody.
