Men who attacked taxi driver for court

Police have held three men who attacked and robbed a taxi-driver on Wednesday night and they are expected to appear in court today.

According to a police source, Compton Melbourne of La Grange, West Bank Demerara, a taxi-driver who works with the West Site taxi service was called on a pick-up on Wednesday. He picked up the three men but was held-up at knife point and carried to a lonely area at Best village, West Coast Demerara (WCD). He was stabbed in his right arm and relieved of a cell phone and $1800. After robbing him, the men escaped.

However, about an hour and a half later, police acting on information, caught the men in Crane, WCD.

They were arrested and after interrogation, reportedly admitted to the offence. They were charged and are expected to appear in court today.
