Man found dead in trench with bullet may be Lindener

“Jah Bless” and a Cannabis leaf inked on the forearm of the decomposing body discovered in a South Sophia canal on Tuesday may have led to its identification.

A man  yesterday contacted the Lyken’s Funeral Parlour and indicated that based on the information he would’ve seen in media reports he believes that the dead man may be his brother.
This newspaper understands that the man told officials at the funeral home that his brother has been missing for a few days now and based on the description of the tattoo on the upper left forearm given by police he believes that the dead man may be his brother.

The man is expected to visit the city sometime today to identify the body.

The decomposing remains were discovered floating in a canal in South Sophia behind Meadow Brook Gardens with a bullet wound to the back of the head. The discovery was made by someone passing the area around 6 am and the police were informed. A resident told this newspaper that early Saturday morning, gunshots were heard but he did not go to investigate.

A gold chain and a cellular phone were among the items, police found in the dead man’s pockets
