Police said in a press release last evening that consequent to the robbery and fatal shooting in the area recently, “the police administration in ‘C’ Division has revamped its policing strategy.”

As a result, daily and nightly patrols have been intensified in the division and ranks are enforcing the law as it relates to the music and dance Licences Act and against Illegal (spirits) Rum Shops.

Around 11:45pm on Thursday, ranks drawn from ‘C’ Division and the Tactical Services Unit mounted an operation in the Plaisance Line top area when they encountered several “hostile patrons” including a policeman who became abusive and disorderly.

They have been released on bail pending charges. A senior police official said a similar exercise will be conducted at the Buxton Line Top.
