Did anyone advise Motilall to persevere with the Synergy project?

Dear Editor,

I have written many letters on the matter of Fip Motilall and Synergy. Some got responses. Recently, nothing but silence. Now that all the questions are boiling the people of Guyana need to know whether Fip has a close friend near the top of the political ladder?  Somebody had to have given Fip the flippancy to continue with this project. Someone must have convinced Fip that perseverance would pay off. Despite the shrill warnings of their own expert. People need to know if there is anyone who did in fact advise Fip to persevere.

Were the environmental studies/reports vetted? Was the feasibility study ever sent for independent analysis? Time for the government to crawl out of its hole. This is a US$500-600 million load on the backs of poor people. Questions must be answered. Loud and clear. It’s not too late to do the right thing. It is time to start telling the truth.

Yours faithfully,
Michael Maxwell
