Charity needs a proper development plan

Dear Editor,
Charity is a hub for many economic activities on the Essequibo Coast. The Pomeroon River is the principal connection with Charity, and river residents visit Charity for their weekly supply of food, as well as for services and other business activities.

Government must sit down and draw up a proper plan of how this place should be developed.

The waterfront where the wharf went down into the river is still an open area awaiting replacement by another wharf.

The marketing centre wharf is incomplete; recently it was rehabilitated. The car park needs to be fixed and the market area needs regulating. The police station is sandwiched among stalls, which compromises security and proper policing.

Yours faithfully,
Andrieko Basir
